Our Pearce

Sunday, February 1^st, was Pearce’s first birthday. Laurie scolded me about not writing something of significance about him and she’s right. I guess I have Facebook-itis; my comments are short and to the point. But Pearce deserves more than a birthday wish, so here it is.

He was born on a Friday. I got to the hospital shortly after Laurie & Dewayne so it was a long day. Her labors are never long, but all the preparations leading up to labor take a while. Darbi came and went a couple of times; she and Laurie had agreed that she could be in the delivery room for the birth.

Surprisingly Pearce weighed less than Marlee K, but maybe that’s because Dr. C took him earlier…such a little thing at 9lb/4oz (Laurie, is the ounce part right?)

He didn’t have any trouble adapting to the hectic Phillips household since he’s a laid-back little fellow. Happy and calm for the most part, he watches the world with wise-looking eyes that smile easily. He loves his mama, who can make him cackle with laughter. Dewayne, I’m sure he loves you, too. J

So, our Pearce has reached that one-year milestone. What did we ever do without you, little man!!
